Pets and fun: Expopet 2025 celebrates a decade of unforgettable experiences
Corferias is preparing to enthusiastically welcome all animal lovers to the tenth edition of Expopet Colombia, which will take place from August 14 to 18. This international fair, recognized as the country’s leading platform for the companion animal universe, turns pets into the true stars of an environment designed for their enjoyment and that of the whole family.
Over its ten-year trajectory, Expopet has established itself as a benchmark in the sector, offering unique and immersive experiences centered on affection and responsibility toward four-legged companions. In this special edition, the Bogotá exhibition center will be transformed into an ideal setting to explore the animal world through a comprehensive academic agenda, with a larger commercial showcase than ever before and at least 200 confirmed exhibitors.
Carlos Ruiz, Project Manager of Expopet Colombia, highlights that celebrating the fair’s tenth anniversary means commemorating the unbreakable bond between families and their pets. “We have designed this special edition as a true celebration for every member of the family. We want to offer a safe, joyful space where children and adults, together with their four-legged companions, can share memorable moments and learn together.”
Expopet Colombia integrates knowledge, business opportunities, and entertainment into a proposal designed for the entire pet lover community. Among its most representative areas is the Adoption Zone, where many animals find new opportunities to join a home. In addition, the fair has positioned itself as a meeting point to discover the latest innovations in products, services, and animal welfare.
To create a welcoming environment for all attendees, accessible rest areas have been set up, along with play and socialization zones that encourage positive interactions between owners and their pets. Over the five days of the fair, specialized talks and workshops will also be held, led by veterinarians, ethologists, trainers, and other experts, addressing topics related to animal health, behavior, and nutrition.
Among the most outstanding activities on the program are:
- Canisalto: dogs demonstrate their agility by jumping from a platform into a pool, with height and distance evaluated in a festive atmosphere.
- My Most Beautiful Mixed-Breed: a contest that awards mixed-breed dogs and cats in categories such as puppy, adult, and senior. Health, attitude, behavior, physical condition, and overall grooming are evaluated.
- International Feline Cup: a cat show and competition featuring purebred and mixed-breed cats judged by international judges. Cats are evaluated according to morphological standards of beauty and body structure (eyes, profile, musculature, coat, etc.), similar to a feline beauty pageant.
- Canicross: an endurance race where owners and dogs run together as a team (pair). It includes various categories (individual male and female, team relays, children’s category, and even a scooter modality), generating great excitement among attendees.
- Agility Cup: a canine agility competition on an obstacle course. Dogs demonstrate speed and skill by overcoming ramps, tunnels, and jumps
- The Expopet Farm: an interactive area with farm animals and small species (for example, mini horses, llamas, rabbits, guinea pigs, and others). Families can get close to the animals, learn about their care, and enjoy an educational and playful environment.
- School of Happiness: guided activities designed to strengthen the human–pet bond through games and emotional well-being dynamics.
- Pet Industry Awards: recognition of the most innovative products and services in the companion animal sector.
- Pet Arena: the main stage featuring daily shows, demonstrations, and exhibitions for the whole family’s entertainment.
Additionally, the Veterinary Week 360 Congress will take place, an advanced training space focused on Clinical Pathology: “Diagnostic Innovation and Clinical Resolution applied to One Health,” featuring national and international experts.
With a diverse program designed to educate and entertain audiences of all ages and levels of knowledge, Expopet 2025 promises to be an unforgettable experience. From breed specialists to multi-species families, all attendees will find activities that spark their interest and emotions.
